(Happy birthday to me)

There are two kinds of people in the world: those who fear their birthdays, deliberate diminish the importance of the moment and complain that they are getting older, and the ones who celebrate the special day and are joyful on their anniversary. I belong to the latter group.
Why? For all the obvious reasons, but above all for the fact of being alive. Yes! Alive! Many people were not so fortunate to make it to this day.
The morning birthday ritual starts with the coffee needed to bring me into my human shape and with the big ‘thank you’ I say to the Universe/ God/Supreme Force/ Creative Energy. Today I mark 37 years of existence on this planet. And I wish to live at least 37 years more 😊 I like to believe that there is much more life ahead of me then is behind me.
It took me a long time to understand that getting older is a privilege. I am lucky for being here today able to share these humble words with you.
Birthdays are wonderful occasions to be grateful. It may not all be sunshine and roses, but there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for. If your basic needs are covered, have a roof over your head and food on your plate, then you are blessed.
My birthdays are those amazing days when I am reminded I am not alone. I do not know how to properly transpose in words the joy and the delight I am getting knowing that family and friends are thinking about me, are overwhelming me with best wishes and above all that they exist and make my life beautiful.
Celebrating your birthday or any birthday is in fact, a celebration of life (and it doesn’t imply a big outrages party). Celebrating a birthday is the acknowledgement of the days lived so far (the good and the bad) and of all the moments shared with the amazing souls (close and from afar) that left a significant trace into our existence.
Today is my birthday. I am 37 years old and I am blessed. I am far from being the image of the classic thirty-something woman. I am divorced, do not have kids, I am not a house owner (even though I made a home out of every apartment I have rented), I live in a city I love and which played a huge role in my personal development, I have amazing family and friends who poured so much love and positive vibes into my life, and I couldn’t be happier than I am right now.
I wish for all of you to be as blessed and lucky as I feel today.
Lots of love,
Sharing Simple Words

Thank you 🙂 My current city gave me a fresh start a few years ago, and I will be always grateful for the opportunities it brought into my life.
